Nouns and Their Significance

“All names are grammatically known as nouns.”

Names of persons, places, things, abstract or intangible things like emotions, states, qualities, activities, concepts etc. are all different types of nouns. Learners shouldn’t merely focus on its definition or its different types. You all may have been doing this task during your formal education (schooling) but it would be of little help if you are preparing for competitive exams or entrances or professional acumen.

So let’s first set our goal as to why we should learn NOUNS at all.

Learning Goals

O1 – To be able to identify NOUNS in a given text.
O2 – To be able to classify NOUNS as common, proper, abstract ones.
O3 – To be able to grasp the significance of nouns distinct from other parts of speech like ADJECTIVES, VERBS and ADVERBS.
O4 – To grasp role of NOUNS, NOUN PHRASES, NOUN CLAUSES in the formation of simple, compound and complex sentences.
O5 – To be able to justify the use OR omission as the case may be of ARTICLES before NOUNS in texts.
O6 – To understand the functional role of nouns as SUBJECTS, SUBJECT COMPLEMENT, OBJECT and OBJECT COMPLEMENT in a given text.
O7 – To be able to understand relationship between NOUNS and ADJECTIVES.
O8 – To see dynamics between nouns, adjectives and articles for clarity.

Hope learners would keep all these goals in mind while listening to our learned content writer during ZOOM onlines.

I wish you all happy learning.
